A new Pew research study found that the vast majority of Americans support paid family and medical leave. Most say employers should cover the costs, but are divided on whether this should be a government mandate or allow employers to voluntarily adopt this policy. Americans also differ on who should receive the paid family leave. For instance, 82% of respondents said mothers should receive paid family leave following the birth or adoption of a child. Yet 69% said fathers should receive paid paternity leave.
